How a clearance runs with Altamaiez

Five steps, one contact. You receive an update at each stage, and the final step is your cargo on a truck.

  1. Send the shipping documents

Invoice, packing list, bill of lading or airway bill and certificate of origin — by email or WhatsApp.

  2. We check and classify

HS codes, values and required permits are verified before anything is submitted, so the declaration is right first time.

  3. Declaration and payment

The declaration is filed through FASAH. Duties, VAT and port charges are settled and the receipts are shared with you.

  4. Inspection and release

Our team attends inspection at the port and resolves any query from Customs on the spot.

  5. Delivered to your door

Trucks are booked in advance, so released cargo moves immediately — with the empty container returned on time.

Why importers keep their clearance with us

  • Licensed and accountable

Altamaiez holds customs clearance license No. 4860 and files every declaration under its own name — you always know who is responsible.

  • Pre-arrival preparation

Documents are reviewed and permits arranged before the vessel berths, which is where most demurrage and storage charges are avoided.

  • Clear, itemised costs

Duty, VAT, port charges and our fee are shown separately on every quotation and invoice. No bundled totals.

  • One person who answers

A named coordinator follows your shipment from documents to delivery and replies on WhatsApp — not a ticket queue.

  • Clearance and transport, planned together

Because we book the trucks, release and pick-up happen on the same day and empty containers go back before detention starts.

A word from our General Manager

"A customs broker is judged on the shipments that could have gone wrong and didn't. Our job is to know the regulations before your cargo arrives, keep you informed without being asked, and get your goods moving the moment they are released."

Common questions

How long does customs clearance take in Saudi Arabia?

With complete documents and permits in place, most shipments are released within one to two working days of arrival; many are cleared the same day. Shipments selected for physical inspection, or missing a conformity certificate, take longer — which is why we prepare everything before arrival.

Do I need to be registered to import?

Yes. The importer needs a valid Saudi commercial registration with an import activity and an account on the FASAH platform. If you are new to importing, we will guide you through the registration before your first shipment.

What will I pay, and how is it shown?

Customs duty (by HS code), 15% VAT on the customs value plus duty, port and handling charges, any inspection fees, and our clearance fee. Our quotation lists each line separately, and the official receipts are shared with you.

What is SABER and does my product need it?

SABER is the Saudi conformity platform for regulated products. Many consumer and industrial goods need a product certificate and a shipment certificate before release. Send us your product list and we will confirm which items are regulated and arrange the certificates.

Can you also arrange the trucking?

Yes. We book container haulage and trucks to any destination in the Kingdom, and we time the pick-up to the release so your cargo does not sit at the port.

Do you handle shipments outside Riyadh?

Yes. Our head office is in Al-Malaz, Riyadh, and we clear at Jeddah, Dammam, Jubail, the main airports and the GCC land borders.
